How does prepaid billing work?

Basic, Standard, and Pro plans use prepaid wallet billing. You add funds to your wallet, and messages are automatically debited as you send them. This prevents unexpected bills and helps you stay in control of your spending. Enterprise plans use monthly invoicing with a credit limit for predictable budgeting.

What's the difference between Canada and US operations?

Canadian accounts can start sending immediately without 10DLC registration. US accounts require brand and campaign registration through TCR (included in your plan). If you want to send to both US and Canadian numbers, you'll need to complete US registration. Canadian-only operation is simpler and faster to get started.

What happens if I exceed my monthly SMS credits?

For prepaid plans, you simply add more funds to your wallet to continue sending. There are no surprise overage charges - you only send when you have funds available. For Enterprise plans, messages continue up to your credit limit, and overages are billed on your monthly invoice.

How do I manage my prepaid wallet balance?

Your wallet balance is always visible in your dashboard. You'll receive warnings when your balance is low, and you can add funds anytime via credit card or ACH transfer. You can also enable auto-reload to automatically top up your wallet when it falls below a threshold you set.

Can I change plans at any time?

Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately, and downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. Your wallet balance transfers with you when changing plans.

What does the 14-day free trial include?

All paid plans include a 14-day free trial with full access to all features in that tier. No credit card required to start. You get 100 free SMS credits to test with real messages.

Is 10DLC registration included in the price?

For US operations: Yes! Your first 10DLC brand registration ($4 one-time TCR fee) and campaign registrations ($15 one-time per campaign) are included. We handle all the paperwork and approvals. For Canada-only operations: No registration needed - you can start sending immediately to Canadian numbers.

What compliance features are included?

All plans include automatic STOP/HELP/START handling, universal opt-out detection (April 2025 TCPA updates), consent tracking with audit trails, one-to-one messaging compliance, CAN-SPAM footer management, and full message history for regulatory audits.

Do you offer refunds?

Can I use my own phone numbers?

Yes! Professional and higher plans support porting your existing numbers. We also provide new local and toll-free numbers through our carrier-grade network. Number costs: Local ($1.50/mo), Toll-Free ($2.50/mo).

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover), ACH bank transfers (Business and Enterprise only), and wire transfers for annual Enterprise contracts. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

Are mobile apps really included at no extra cost?

Yes! Unlike competitors who charge $500-2,000/year for mobile access, AlertBolt includes professional iOS and Android apps in all plans at no additional cost. This includes push notifications, two-way acknowledgments, and admin features for sending alerts on the go.

What are Critical Alerts and how do I get them?

Critical Alerts (iOS) bypass Silent mode, Focus, and Do Not Disturb for life-safety emergencies. They require Apple entitlement approval, which is granted only for apps with legitimate safety/health use cases. Enterprise plans include assistance with the entitlement application process. Android has similar DND bypass capabilities with user consent.

What happens if I exceed my email or push notification limits?

Email overages are billed at $0.001-0.003 per email depending on your plan. Push notifications are billed at $0.0005 per notification. These rates are significantly lower than SMS, making email and push excellent channels for high-volume communications.
